Labi khovuz historical monument

Image
Assalomu alaykum everyone 😍  On our first day of practice, we went to the Labi khovuz historical monument. We studied the information with the group members and our mentor. Our group member is Samiya introduced us some information about Labi khovuz.  The magnificent Labi Pool ensemble is one of the central monuments of ancient Bukhara. The square was formed around the Nadirbegi reservoir in the 16th century. First, the Madrasa of Nadir Devonbegi and the house of the same name (residence of Sufis), a pool and a caravanserai appeared here. The second building is the Kokaldosh madrasa built in the 16th century and is one of the largest madrasas in Bukhara. It consists of 160 cells. Its facades are decorated with maloyika. Labi Hovuz was once a trade point on the Great Silk Road, which contributed to the location of the nearby shopping street. Now, on a hot summer day, here is a coffee shop that will save you from the heat. A...

Toqi Zargaron Bazaar

Image
Assalomu alaykum everyone 😍 ❤️  We went to the Toqi Zargaron market on our practice day today. As always, we saw a lot of handicrafts there. It was great. Toqi Zargaron is the largest of several ancient domed bazaars and the most complex in construction and placement of bazaars in the city. The building has a large dome as well as several smaller domes. The bazaar was built in 1586-1587 from clay bricks during the reign of Abdullah Khan II of the Shaibani dynasty for the trade of jewelry. Its name, translated from Persian and Tajik, means "Dome of Jewelers". It had more than 35 jewelry workshops and shops. Toki Zargaron is a famous tourist spot. Currently, there are souvenir shops selling antiques, handicrafts, as well as goldsmiths' and blacksmiths' workshops. In information about the Toqi Zargaron market gave us my classmate  Sevinch. Thank you for your attention ☺️  Our practice is over. Good bye-bye 👍

Zarisha and Bolo Khovuz

Image
Assalomu    alaykum everyone 😍 ❤️ Today is the eighth day   of the practice day. We went to the Bolo Hoz Mosque on our practice day today. But we didn't get there. As it was noon prayer time, prayers were being performed inside the mosque. The pond in front of it was very beautiful and there were many fish in it. The name Bala Hauz Mosque translates as "The Mosque of the Bala Lake", which refers to the octagonal pool (hauz) in its public forecourt that is lined with stone steps. It was built in 1712 for Bibi Khanum, the mother of Ashtarkhanid (or Janid) ruler Abu'l Fayud Khan (1711-47). Although built as a royal chapel, the mosque has become a significant civic monument as a consequence of its eminent site near the famed Registan Square. The Bala Hauz Masjid was part of an elite neighborhood to the west of the Ark until the early nineteenth century, surrounded by two mosques, the residence of the imperial army commander, an arsenal, a weapon's...

Zarisha and Zindan

Image
Assalomu alaykum everyone 😍  We went to the dungeon architectural monument on our practice day today. It was a very scary and historical place. It was my first time going to the dungeon, so I was a little scared. The atmosphere there is very strange. I learned a lot about the history of the dungeon. Zindan (“zina” - "crime" and “dan” – “room”) in Persian means an underground prison. It's the most mysterious monument of Bukhara built in the 18th century. It's located inside the city (Shakhristan) and consists of several wards, dungeon made of brick with a diameter of about 5 meters and a depth of 6.5 meters. Zindan was accommodated not more than 40 people and it's not a serious amount if compare it with the population of medieval Bukhara. It means that the crime rate was low at that time. The prisoners were usually debtors, criminals and condemned persons. Zindan was no longer used as prison in 1920. Today Emir Zindan is a unique mus...

Zarisha and Ark Fortress

Image
Assalomu alaykum everyone 😻 Today was the first day of the last week of practice. We went to Ark Fortress. We were told to meet at 10.00 and we did. It is very cold. Our hands are frozen. Despite the cold weather, we did not shy away from learning The Ark of Bukhara is a massive fortress located in the city of Bukhara, Uzbekistan, that was initially built and occupied around the 5th century AD. In addition to being a military structure, the Ark encompassed what was essentially a town that, during much of the fortress's history, was inhabited by the various royal courts that held sway over the region surrounding Bukhara. The Ark was used as a fortress until it fell to Russia in 1920. Currently, the Ark is a tourist attraction and houses museums covering its history.[1] The museums and other restored areas include an archaeological museum, the throne room, the reception and coronation court, a local history museum, and the court mosque.  📸...

Assalomu alaykum everyone 😍 ❤️ Today is our fourth practice day. And today, together with our team, we went to Toqi Sarrofon Baazar. It was very cold. Our teacher told us to meet at 10:30.  And we gathered.  In information about the Toqi Sarrofon Baazar While many of the historic monuments in the city today also act as merchant venues, there are four trading domes that remain and are conveniently located on each side of Bukhara’s city centre. These trading domes are the Toqi Telpak Furushon, Tim Abdulla Khan, Toqi Sarrofon Bazaar, and Zargaron. Each one holds craftsmen and women that specialise in various trades such as gold, silver, jewellery, money exchange, hats and carpets. Other products sold in the trading domes and bazaars are scarves, ceramics, handmade Damascus steel knives, and traditional small paintings artwork. Some of the most authentic Uzbek cuisine can be found in these bazaars as well. Bukhara has for centuries acted as a res...
