Labi khovuz historical monument

               Assalomu alaykum everyone 😍

On our first day of practice, we went to the Labi khovuz historical monument. We studied the information with the group members and our mentor. Our group member is Samiya introduced us some information about Labi khovuz.

The magnificent Labi Pool ensemble is one of the central monuments of ancient Bukhara. The square was formed around the Nadirbegi reservoir in the 16th century.

First, the Madrasa of Nadir Devonbegi and the house of the same name (residence of Sufis), a pool and a caravanserai appeared here.

The second building is the Kokaldosh madrasa built in the 16th century and is one of the largest madrasas in Bukhara. It consists of 160 cells. Its facades are decorated with maloyika.

Labi Hovuz was once a trade point on the Great Silk Road, which contributed to the location of the nearby shopping street. Now, on a hot summer day, here is a coffee shop that will save you from the heat. A fountain was built instead of a water basin. Also, at the end of the 20th century, a bronze statue was erected to the hero of folk tales, Khoja Nasriddin.

The statue of the legendary hero Khoja Nasriddin Efendi creates an impression of a spark of light among the restrained masterpieces of ancient architecture. This cunning old man riding a donkey is revered as a folk hero.

Many people know him as a hero of oriental legends, anecdotes and fairy tales, a smart, strange and humorous person who fought against the evils of humanity. He ridicules the vices of greedy rulers and beks, hypocrisy and cowardice, bribery and usury.

Why is his monument in Bukhara? Soviet writer Leonid Solovyov wrote 2 novels about the adventures of Khoja Nasriddin. Based on one of the works, a film will be made about Khoja Nasriddin traveling through Bukhara and entering the court of the emir of Bukhara. This character becomes so popular in Bukhara that it even becomes a national symbol, and in 1979 a statue was erected to him. Every spring, a humor festival is held in Bukhara in honor of Khoja Nasriddin. There is also a legend in Bukhara that if you put a child on the donkey of Khoja Nasreddin, his life will be full of joy and positive emotions.

Thank you for your attention ☺️ 😊 🙂
